What is “Witchcraft Therapy”?
Essentially, I coined and developed the term and wrote the book Witchcraft Therapy: Your Guide to Banishing Bullshit and Invoking Your Inner Power to describe the space where emotional healing, identity work, and ritual intersect.
Unlike traditional therapy alone or spiritual practice on its own, witchcraft therapy exists in the integration point between the two… where mindset work, emotional processing, and symbolic ritual are used together to shift deeply rooted patterns!
As you probably know already, I identity as somewhat of a secular witch, meaning I use these practices as more a tool for empowerment and self-care than approaching this path as a religion. When talking about “Witchcraft Therapy” in the context of my work, it is a mindset/psychology-meets-magic healing approach that blends therapeutic principles with ritual, symbolic practice, and subconscious emotional work. It is both a framework for understanding emotional patterns and a lived healing practice that bridges modern psychology with spiritual ritual.
In this article, I’m going to break down what the witchcraft therapy approach is, how the method works, and how it shows up in my Witchcraft Therapy book, along with how you can begin applying it in YOUR own life.
WHY “witchcraft therapy”
I didn’t create Witchcraft Therapy as an abstract concept, I created it because I kept seeing the same gap over and over again and had also even LIVED IT myself!
When people are highly self-aware and analytical, something interesting happens. We often have no shortage of insight or understanding of our triggers, patterns, and emotional loops.
And yet… things STILL feel very difficult to change.
After personally doing years of therapy, counselling, and what felt like every other intervention under the sun, it was only spiritual and ritual-based practices- so experiencing real emotional shifts through symbolic action, intention, and ritual- that really helped move the needle where everything else failed.
I think the problem is that we often treat psychology/mindset and spirituality as separate systems, when they truly aren’t. Because mindset work without embodiment stays theoretical. And ritual without self-awareness can become escapism.
Witchcraft Therapy came from creating personal practices that blended the two.
Why science/psychology and magic aren’t opposites
Psychology and spirituality are often treated as opposing systems, but they are actually addressing the same human experience from different angles.
Psychology helps us understand how we think, feel, and behave.
Ritual and symbolic practice help us experience change in a way the mind and body can actually integrate.
Modern psychology supports many parts of this:
habits form through repetition and cues
emotional processing improves through symbolic expression
identity change requires lived experience, not just insight
meaning and belief systems shape behaviour
What this means is that we don’t just think our way into change- we experience it. Often the “thinking” and getting caught up in the logic brain and overanalysis creates the very problems we are trying to solve!
That’s why Witchcraft Therapy combines psychological awareness with symbolic, embodied practice, intuition and more- because it works with the full human system, not just the logic/thinking mind.
Who Witchcraft Therapy is for
Witchcraft Therapy is for you if:
you understand your patterns but still repeat them
you’ve done personal development but feel stuck
you want mindset tools that feel practical, not overwhelming
you’re curious about spirituality but value psychological grounding
you are ready to shift identity patterns, not just analyze them!!
This is about using your spiritual practices as a playground for self discovery and personal growth! Using ritual, shadow work, belief audits, and spiritual practices, we can hack the mundane and find lasting transformative change!
Inside the Witchcraft Therapy book
My book Witchcraft Therapy explores this framework into a complete mindset system for emotional and subconscious transformation!
Inside, you’ll find:
tools for identifying and interrupting limiting patterns
practices for emotional awareness and reflection
simple rituals for mindset shifts and release
exercises that bridge insight and real behavioural change
recipes and suggested practices to make it all ACTIONABLE
Fair warning though- while most books are written very flowery and Goddess-coded, this one is more chaotic and features swearing, tough love, and humor. It is very much about treating YOURSELF as a deity versus enacting devotion to others. There are not many books out there for secular witches, which is why I decided to write mine from this often underserved perspective.
Ready to HACK THE MUNDANE?
At the core of Witchcraft Therapy is this idea:
You can use magic and mindset to heal and grow. It can help you become more confident, happy, authentic, and resilient.
Mindset is MALLEABLE and we can always hack the mundane to live more magical lives!
